1. We senators, dignitaries, officials and all the knights of the glorious land of Przemyśl, having come here to Przemyśl today and feeling the unfortunate fate of the entire homeland due to the violence of the actions of the Russian army, by whose audacious power the laws were abolished, freedom violated, and finally the holy faith degraded, make it clear that the division of citizens, disunity and vile slowness are the ruin of the entire nation. We see this in the consequences that are all too obvious when we have reached this misfortune that the conqueror, in a free nation without war and equality, makes terrible attempts to write laws which he uses the shortest methods to implement. But God, who does not let us go without any providential efforts, has ordered the hearts and minds of the citizens of JWW who are zealous for their faith and homeland freedoms. Krasiński, the chamberlain of the Duchy of Masovia, the Land of Róża (starosta of Opinogorsk), and Puławy, the court writer of the crown of Warka, that they, having gambled their fortunes and lives, were the first to take up a bloody defense by allying themselves with salvation and great fame, together with the holy faith and freedom. The Almighty, the Giver of all things, blessed the beneficial actions of these great men for our country, when, for the smallest part, thanks to them, the gathered citizens, for example subsequent centuries, were able to effectively resist the power of the enemy spread arrogantly in our country. This gamble, so beneficial for God and the homeland, encouraged almost all provinces and lands in the crown to form an alliance similar to the holy faith and freedom of ancient law, giving clear proofs to God and the homeland that it is the most pleasing thing for God to shed their blood and lay down their property and lives for the good of the homeland. We looked with envy at these glorious achievements of great men, regretting that it was not the citizens of our land who were the first to be so happy to make such a saving sacrifice for God and the country. There has always been a caring desire within us and a keen desire to abandon vile meanness, taking as the most effective means of defense to which national laws compel us. But the impudent enemy, having usurped the most unjust power over us, having settled the earth with our multitude of soldiers, reaching even salutary thoughts through the similarities of betrayal, tried to suppress it with the most cruel revenge and left us in this disadvantage, so that although our civic hearts most sincerely lamented the misfortune, we had to remain innocent for the time being.

2. Now that, by the order of the supreme giver of all things, God, our land has been freed from the enemy army, and also JWW. IMcie pp. Franciszek Xawery and Kazimierz Pułaski, the regiments of the Confederate army and the party of the Confederate army came closer to our country, shielding us from the enemy power, to the necessary confederation and unanimously with the Bar Confederation and other confederations to save the faith of the Holy Roman Catholic with the Greek Orthodox Uniate, united, against lawlessness and all the violence of the free nation oppressing the alliance, they gave the desired opportunity, wanting to be participants in such salutary activities, we willingly offer our blood and life to God and our beloved homeland, following the example and likeness of the act of the Bar Confederation and others, to defend the holy Roman Catholic faith with the Greek Orthodox Union united, to save the freedom of ancient national laws, to secure the equality of the nobility against the most cruel and violent acts of all we rise up, we conspire and confederate the enemies of the homeland, all acts, laws, treaties, letters under any pretext or pretense

we abolish harmful and contrary actions made and made to the holy faith, freedoms, national rights and equality of the nobility, we want to consider them invalid and we cancel them, and that this holy faith, national freedoms, ancient laws, with all our strength until the last drop of blood, we unanimously promise each other and take an oath to defend ourselves, and we are obliged to defend this alliance and confederation, in gratitude to a worthy and death into the last centuries of the great fame of the late. Mr. JW. Józef Puławski, the court writer of the Crown, the starosta of Warka, the marshal of the Crown Army Association, who bravely and gloriously saved the homeland with his marshal, JW. We choose Franciszek Kawery Puławski, a starosta of a man of proven virtue, as a marshal, and we are bound by the following oath (See above, No. 237, which contains the oath of a confederate marshal.*
