The defmtacki assembly was developed in an assembly that dealt with much more matters than the election of a tribunal deputy. It is true that the rules were followed that each sejmik should be ad hunc solum actum^), but as a result of the practice that urgent matters were resolved at the first meeting of the nobility, even at the annual meeting, the parliamentary sejmik began to be used even for the purpose of adopting salaries, as e.g. in 1609, or for military emergency and recruitment, as on September 11, 1589, and we even see this assembly debating on the means of calming down the land and sending deputies to the hetman and the king for this purpose, as was the case in 1607. In 1610, during the election of a deputy, a union was held against the settlement of Transylvania, the nobility was pacified as in 1624, in other words, apart from the election of collectors and stewards, In addition to listening to the reports of deputies sent to this sejm, a number of activities were carried out 5), in which the election of a deputy was sometimes only a small part of the sejmik matters. It is true that sometimes not all of the resolutions adopted by such a sejm of deputies were adopted

reconciled with the lands, some of them protested directly, such as the inhabitants of Sanok in 1609, against the conscription passed "because the assembly was convened to elect a deputy". Despite such protests, the parliamentary assembly did not stop multiplying the material for various assembly meetings, especially when, as in 1613, lands were declared certain lump-sum collection sums for several years. There was a need to control wages and it was decided that these accounts would be held at the parliamentary assembly. We can see that this resolution was implemented from the decisions of the deputies' sejmik of 1644 2) where "the number was drawn" and the Sanok collector was decided to be questioned at the next sejmik. Thus, already in the times of King Władysław IV, the deputation sejmik had the seeds of later agricultural sejmiks.

But not only are the roles of the assemblies increasing, the scope of their activities is also increasing. Since ancient times, the assembly has been settling disputes in matters of nobility, now, in addition to this activity, it also defines a further field of pacification of conflicting landowners and, with greater or lesser success, develops activities in this direction 4). The sejmik gained greater importance since at the beginning of the 18th century it began to become a treasury authority, when provincial treasuries were created due to the declaration of a certain sum to the treasury at the sejmik, or when a district soldier was adopted. Then the assembly took up not only the election of collectors but also conscript stewards and continued to exercise control over the provincial tax. And when in 1613, following the example of the Lublin tribunal, the highest treasury tribunal was established in Radom, in which the nobility began to participate in the sejm's deputies, a further growth of sejmiks took place, from then on striving both to elect Radom deputies within their own sejm body and to organize courts. provincial treasury. But this centralization in terms of treasury dates back to the times of Władysław IV and John Casimir; here we only mention that it was born in the times of Sigismund III. It should also be noted that a certain part of the conservative nobility also opposed the too hasty expansion of the competence of the sejmik, especially when it came to granting higher salaries, then they protested against the laudum of the Wisze sejmik, due to the levies imposed on the Sanok land, because "the authority of the sejmik was pushed further than it was allowed by the sejm" 5). In particular, efforts were made to ensure compliance of the resolutions of the sejmiks with the resolutions of the Sejm, and therefore it was demanded that what was intended to be passed at the sejmiks should be submitted first, and that the Sejm should give its consent to the constitutione publica, while those who did not meet these conditions should be denied parliamentary approval.

The sejmik did not stop at immeasurably increasing its activities, it expanded and began to decentralize, transplanting its growth into smaller areas. To the general of the Ruthenian Voivodeship, as the Wisze sejmik was called
