the commandership of Podolia and Belz ') that we will rise against such a man, nor do we want to have him as a nobleman equal to us, as one who has forgotten the words of his honest noble knight. 4. I am to go to this mountain in such a way that two days before the meeting of the Sejm, we will all go to one certain place, two, three or four miles from the place where it will be, and our Russian voivode*) will designate such a place for us, and if he refrains from doing so, which we do not have for him, then we will designate such a place for him. We tried to elect the following gentlemen: Mikołaj Herbortł, starosta of Lviv, Wojciech Starzechowslci, chamberlain of Lviv, Jakub Herborth, Stanisław Stadnicki, Matyasz Ijala, Stanisław Tarnawski, Sebestyan Zorawiński, chamberlain of Galicia, Paweł Skotnicki, standard-bearer of Galicia. And having gathered at that place, we shall all go from there together to the place of the election. Where we could have a safe and just situation for all our needs, our Russian voivode, at our request, promised to take care of us. Therefore, if they, for whatever reason, fail to do this, then the deputies born in our country will have to work diligently to do so, ensuring that all the lands of Lviv, Przemyśl, Sanok, Che/Msko, Halych, Trembowel, and Kolomyia have their location and status close to each other as one voivodeship. So that the Volhynian, Podolia and Belz voivodeships should be together, and one according to the other, as adjacent, together and close to each other, so that we can all more easily know each other about all the needs of the Polish Republic. 5. When going to the election, each of us, on whichever road is most convenient for him, from his house on the way, and when we are there, must behave in such a way that he does not commit any violence against anyone, does not beat, injure or kill anyone, and does not take anything from anyone by force, except for fair money. And for this reason, we asked our Russian voivode to make a law for every food and every need, and we send certain envoys to other voivodeships of Great and Little Poland, asking for such a law. And whoever of us from our lands behaves differently, an action must be taken against him, upon sufficient proof from the complaining party, according to our Glyno Confederation. 6. We also promise to provide advice, assistance and help to the best of our ability to all of us from our lands and to all offices in every place. To whom, under the same faith and goodwill, our blood and knighthood, and bearing the Lord our Almighty as a witness, that in all matters that will be held at this future assembly of the election of a new king, especially in giving votes and in casting our vote on who should be our king, that we should not consider or do anything for the sake of considerations, for money, for any gifts, for fear, for anger, for grace, for love or dislike for someone, or for the hope of one's own private life or for someone else's sake, only by looking at that and diligently and faithfully seeking what would be beneficial and glorious to the common Republic. 7. Also that we are not to enter into any harmful treaties with anyone, especially with any foreign persons or even with our crowns, by persuading or publishing writings for anyone, practicing them, recommending them or sugarcoating them. But that there should be such a thing between us, we do not understand. And where should any of us explain something like this to our brothers, because we have to discuss everything openly and freely in such a way that everyone is allowed to make open persuasions and votes as best they can according to their own reason and God's gift. And whoever undertakes anything other than what is useful and famous for the entire Republic, for his own private reasons and for the reasons described above, is to be considered shameful and unworthy to freely elect a king along with us. 8. We also promise in all freedoms, in accordance with our rights, from the greatest to the least, all together and uniformly, under our faith and goodwill
