In the year of His nativity one thousand four hundred and fifty, in the thirteenth indiction, in the fourth year of the pontificate of the most holy father in Christ and our lord, lord Nicholas the Fifth, by divine providence pope, on Friday, the thirteenth of the month of November, after the high mass of the Holy Spirit was sung in the sacristy of the metropolitan church of Saint Mary of Lviv, we, Peter, custodian and administrator in spiritual matters, Gregory of Mysłowice, doctor of decrees, archdeacon, John Burcardi of Biecz, Lawrence of Horodok, Peter Yankonis of Peremyshl, Nicholas Olchowski, John Sculteti of Lviv, Stanislaus alias Bass, son of Bartholomew of Ynyeow, prelates and canons of the metropolitan church of Lviv, signify by the tenor of these presents, how, the same church of Lviv being vacant through the death of the late most reverend father in Christ and lord, lord John Odrowąż, of venerable memory, archbishop of Lviv, the last and immediate rector and pastor of the same church, having called all who could, would, and should conveniently be present, at the sound of the bell, after the singing of the mass of the Holy Spirit, we were gathered in the aforesaid metropolitan church, considering that the vacancy of the metropolitan church of Lviv, if it took delay, would, oh sorrow, bring us expense, and the same church would suffer heavier inconveniences both in spiritual and temporal matters, since, however, the more expeditiously, the more beneficially widowed churches are provided with a devout father and pastor adorned with a praiseworthy life, Wishing, as much as in us lay, to consult and meet such a case by consulting, we transferred our votes to the venerable lords Peter, custodian and administrator, John Burcardi, and Nicholas Olchowski, our confreres, as scrutineers by the form of scrutiny, and each of us transferred them, giving and granting to them full, free, and all-encompassing power to elect a father and pastor, whom they, by the gift of the Holy Spirit, should consider ought to be elected, the votes of each having been examined one by one. Which Peter, custodian, John Burcardi, and Nicholas Olchowski, canons, sufficient deliberation having been had beforehand, having obtained license and mandate from us, the venerable lord Francis of Orzek, dean of Lviv, provost sancti Floriani ecclesiarum etc, presentem et audientem vitaque et nioribus sufticienti sciencia circumfultura, necnon ete legittima et in sacris constitutuui. nobilitjue thoro ex utroque paraute (sic) stipatum et procreatum laudabiliteraque there in spiritualibus, quam in temporalibus circumseptum unanimi consensu nostro et voce coucordi gracia spiritus sancti inyocata in archiepiscopuni ecclesie mctropolitane Leopoliensis prefate ac pastorem canonice elegerunt et elloctiun pronunriaverunt. Queni prefatus lohannes Burtardi canoniciis de mandateo alioruni duniinorum duoruin scrutatorum et nostro consensu canonice electum pronunciavit videlicet in hec verba: 'Cum ecdesia nietropolitana Leopoliensis per mortem boną memorie reverendissimi in Cliristo patris domini lohannis Odrowansch, ultimi et imniediati rectoris et pastoris archiepiscopi, vaccare dinoscatur pro presenti, prelati et canonici ad elleccionem congregati, spiritus sancti gracia inrocata, licencia igitur et mandateu a predictis prelatis et canonicis ac confratril)US nostris captis et obtentis, ipsis presontibus et consencientibus, ego lohannes Burcardi nomine meo et aliorum scrutatorum yidolicet Petri cu&todis et administratoris ac Nicolai Olchowski canonici omniumque et singulorum prelatorum et canonicoruni ecclesie metropolitane Leopoliensis, spiritus sancti gracia imocata, ad honorem Dei omnipotentis et beate Marie Yirgiuis gloricsc oiusdem ecclesie patrone, eligo veuerabilem domiuum Franciscuui de Orzek in archiepiscopuni, patrem et pastorem eiusdem ecclesie metropolitane Leopoliensis. In nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti amen." Post cuiusquidem ellectionis publicationem et nomiuatiouis vocem nos prelati et cauouici supradicti prefatum domiuum Franciscum antego sumnnmi altare abduximus et ad locum et stallum, in quo archiepiscopus eiusdem ecclesie coiisnetus est installari, installayimus et "Te Deum laudamus" voce sonorosa decantare m;^iidavimus et campauas pulsare ad honorem omnipotentis Dei et eius genitricis Yirginis gloriose. Quibusquidcm sic peractis, prefatas iiostras ellectionis litteras per ingeniosum Andream Petri de Schamothuli, arcium liberalium baccalariuni, Poznaniensis diocesis notarium scribamque nostrum infrascriptum scribi et publicari mandavimus nostroque sigillo capitulari maiori iussimus communiri.
