PREFACE.

1 om VII of Town and Land Acts, which we are currently presenting to the public, contains only 121 documents, and yet its volume exceeds all previous ones. The reason for this lies in this. that the documents collected here required such extensive explanations and critical comments. which did not need to be added in any of the previous volumes. However, we believe that the documents included here can not only equal in importance the materials collected in the previous volumes, but even significantly exceed them. Document of Queen Mary of Hungary and Fr. Władysław Opolski, privileges relating to the history of the Przemyśl bishoprics of the Latin and Greek rites, the protocol of the election of the Archbishop of Lviv after the death of Jan Odrowąż from 1450 (no. December 1464 (no. LV and LVI), and finally the Multa-Moldavian documents from the Lviv archives - all these are, in our opinion, materials of first-rate value that should contribute greatly to explaining the history of our country's past.

We would like to take this opportunity to fulfill our obligation by publicly expressing our thanks to the following people and corporations: Dr. Franciszek PiEKOSIŃSKI, who not only provided the publishing house with several valuable copies, but also deciphered and described the 44 seals attached to the Act of Confederation from 1464, as well as made copies of the Multa-Moldavian documents in effigies added to this volume, - Wnego prof. E. Kałużniacki, who undertook the preparation of multi-documents

Thai-Moldavian languages from the archives of the city of Lviv, — Wnem prof. E. Ogonowski, who gave us advice and assistance in the difficult proofreading of Ruthenian texts, - the illustrious Przemyśl chapters of the Latin and Greek rites, who with a rare kindness provided us with valuable documents from their archives for scientific use, - and finally to the Great Mieczysław Błażowski, who not only provided us with a whole range of copies, but also through his efforts and mediation enabled us to use documents from the municipal and chapter archives in Przemyśl.
