me huic instrumento manu propria subscripsi, signo et noniine raeis solitis consignavi in testimonium oinuium preraissorum.

The original on a huge sheet of parchment in the arch. obj. pour. in Przemyśl, all that remained of the seal was a red and black silk string. This document was previously printed with some rays and omission of the notary's signatures and the diplomat's description in the Przemyśl magazine Wiedza Chrześciańskiej Pravdy 1833, annual I., TV issue, pp. 89 - 95.

The publisher added some quite interesting explanations to this document in the Przemyśl journal, without, however, providing the source from which he drew them. Due to the rarity of this journal, we also provide them here. "During the times (of Bishop Eryk)," says the publisher, "the borders of the Przemyśl and Lviv dioceses were not properly marked. Hence the mutual complaints of both pastors against each other in Rome. In the year 1388, the Przemyśl Dominicans went to the Lviv archbishop with a request for the consecration of their church. The archbishop arrived and consecrated the church. Hence the lawsuit between the bishop and the Dominicans, which ended with a decree of the delegated judges, two Krakow canons, that the Dominicans should apologize to the bishop, and the bishop, in turn, should not dismiss them from his grace for this transgression. It can be seen from this that Henryk, the bishop of Przemyśl, must have died not in 1387, but around the end of the year 1388 or later." This last conjecture is quite correct, for Bishop Eryk was still alive at the end of the year 1390, see A. U. Z. III. nos. 51 and 52.

In addition to the document printed above, the publisher provides information about the mandate of Piotr, Bishop of Krakow, issued shortly after the announcement of our judgment. "After leaving Iivovia - we read in the Proverbs of Christianity, pp. 96 - 97 - Piotr, the bishop of Krakow, the apostolic commissioner, issued ■/, Jarosław on September 27, 1398, a universal to John of Lviv and John of Prandoczyn, parish churches, rulers and canons of Przemyśl, as well as to the general clergy of the diocese Przemyśl with new boundaries defined in relation to the execution of the above judgment, ordering the clergy, under obedience and under penalty of excommunication, that those or those who, after reading this decree, will be summoned by Bishop Maciej or his prosecutor, should introduce it if they have significant supporting boundaries, i.e. towns, villages, places covered by the defined boundaries, to, within 12 days after The Bishop of Przemyśl obeyed the admonitions of the Archbishop of Przemyśl in all spiritual and just matters, which were decent to him and to his successors, together with the faithful of all walks of life, and they paid homage to the Archbishop of Galicia, as they had done so far, and ordinary donations from the fields, as is my law, were finally introduced. They admonished the Archbishop of Galicia, Archbishop James, with Roman apostolic authority, that he should no longer interfere with the clerical government, perform any pastoral acts in these areas, such as visits, ordinations, or the consecration of churches, altars, or the consecration of chapels, vessels, and apparatuses, or create any obstacles for the Bishop of Przemyśl. preserve, the Archbishop of Galicia resisted in any way or against this judgment, causing obstacles to the bishop of Przemyśl, Maciej, or his successors, who, pursuant to this letter, are prohibited from accessing the church for six days

should he nevertheless persist in his undertaking for the next six days, we suspend him from celebrating the sacrifice. But if, after the sentences of interdict and suspension for a second six days, for another 12 days, which God forbid, he proves to be obstinate, we, together with those who gave him advice, help, open or secret guarantee, excommunicate him in the name of the Lord by this letter, whose excommunication, both his and theirs, shall be announced in the churches every Sunday for as long as until we order otherwise".
