It seems strange to us that the inhabitants of Jarosław did not have the original diploma in 1779, nor any earlier confirmation, but that they incorporated it from a copy in some copiary (this is how we understand the words of the transcript "ex libris metrices privilegiorum larosla - Yiensium") into the town records. There is a suspicion that this diplomat may not have become inter)olated. The grants of Magdeburg law end in general, including the grant granted by Władysław of Opole to Lviv on December 29, 1372. a clause on war service, which is followed in our diplomat by other important grants such as: freedom of use of forests, and free transport on slaughter (> Sleigh, for fodder or wood. Therefore, it is permissible to assume that these parts of the diplomat were interpolated, although the final proof would be only the fact that the citizens of Yaroslavl did not have these rights, which we are unable to prove in the absence of data. In general, it is difficult to decide on this issue, because the document This one is - as far as I know - apart from the grant for Lviv from 1372, the only hitherto known grant from the German king, issued by Władysław of Opole for a town in Ruthenia.
This diplomat was seen by the publishers of "ancient Poland" (Baliński and Lipiński), because in the article "Jarosław" they say this (IL p. 651 - 2): "Władysław, prince of Opole, nephew of King Ludwik, owning many castles in Ruthenia, moves the city to another place, gives it one hundred Frankish fiefs in 137.5, grants it the Magdeburg law and various freedoms, under the obligation paying per skojcu from lan (we also added ^unum in the text) and 6 groszy each. Praga for the bishop's tithe; "employs the hereditary mayor and obliges him to stand on every military expedition with a lance and a crossbow, on a horse in proper armor". The publishers of "Ancient Poland" apparently had the original or a copy in front of them ending with this obligation of military service, which makes us even more suspicious because the final passages were interpolated.
The content of the diplomat was given by Siarczyński in a work entitled: Historical and statistical information about the city of Jarosław. Lviv 1826 on pp. 5—7. Here he goes through the entire content of the diplomat point by point without changing the order. There are 16 of these points, and then he says, "Finally, from the place where the city was settled, he moves it to the castle." These words are surprising, because in a diplomat the sender talks about the transfer at the beginning, not at the end.
