We, Mr. Staszko from Dawidów, the starosta of Samborski, bring this to the eternal memory of today and those who came later: Eliasz, lord of Przemyśl and Samborski, complained to the king about Strzałkowce*) that they were encroaching on the church land of Saint Spas. Then His Majesty the King ordered us in his letter to leave with the landowners and elders and to divide the church land between the lord and Strzałkowiecra and the church land. So, according to the commandments of our Majesty the King, we left with the Sambor landowners and the old men, who know this well. Then the lord began to show the lord and said, standing thus: "Dear gentlemen, this is the church land of Saint Spas across the ford from Prince George and many other rulers (tenants). And this is known to the Sambor landowners and the Sambor elders, and to everyone in general." This is what we did to the landowners and the elderly. Then the landowners, having made an agreement with the elders, confessed that the land of the church of Saint Spas of old was on the ford. And they also confessed that the rulers in India are chasing the fox's trail and giving it back to the Topolniczans *), because the Topolniczans have a border with the lord and the Strzalkowce do not. So we entered the ruler and the landowners over the fox's ford, as had been the case for centuries and was confessed. So, according to this confession, having agreed with the landowners, we gave the ruler a letter and confirmed to him with our seal that the beard was his. And there were witnesses: Mr. Ivan Żjurżewicz (son of Jerzy), Mr. Piotr, the Przemyśl judge, Mr. Waśko Bohdanowicz, Mr. Iwaszko Kornelewski, Mr. Hryćko, the royal hunter Śmietanka and the governor of Lavrov Eufemi and the elders of Lavrov and the kryloshans (canons) Samborski and many good ones. A written hramota in Pohonicze*) on Thursday, January 21, in memory of the holy Father Maximus the Confessor, in the year 1422 after the birth of Christ.
The parchment original is well preserved in the Greek library. category of the chapter in Przemyśl under the sign: B. 2. Polish inscription from the 17th century. century, he calls this border the "fox's ford": "on the Fox's ford, the borders between Topolniczany on the one hand and Stryłkowice on the other side were limited by the staroste of Samborski in 1422." The modern Russian inscription has faded away. This document was approved by King Sigismund Augustus in Polish translation in Krakow on August 27, 1549, and at the request of Antoni Radołowski, Lord of Przemyśl, it was presented in this form in the Przemyśl town in 17/09 on May 25. A copy of the above document was given to me by Mr. Mieczysław Błażowski from Przemyśl, and translated into Polish by Prof. Dr. E. Ogonowski.
') By a later hand, and in paler ink, a "k" was added above the line, through which the said word is represented as "Ta".
'^) After this word, which fell at the end of the line, a later hand added in the margin "H A-kc". That this is an inauthentic addition is also proven by its absence in the Polish translation included in Sigismund Augustus' transsum from 1549. In the original it was written "BkSHJAH".
