Fulham have moved one step closer to completing the signing of long-term target Kevin Mbabu from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in a deal worth £5million.
According to the Evening Standard, the Cottagers are at an advanced stage of negotiations over the Switzerland international with personal terms which shouldn’t be a problem.
The 27-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and is believed to be looking for a new challenge after joining Wolfsburg from Swiss side Young Boys in 2019.
Fulham have been admirers of Mbabu for some time and are set to land the 27-year-old
Fulham have been tracking the attacking full-back for some time and it looks like Marco Silva are closing in on his man’s arrival as the club step up their pre-season preparations in Portugal this week.
Mbabu is no stranger to English football after a four-year spell with Newcastle United between 2013 and 2017.
He signed for the Magpies after a successful trial, but injuries and a lack of early opportunities under boss Steve McClaren led to loan spells with Rangers and then Young Boys.

Fulham have signed Joao Palhinha and are confident of further additions over the coming weeks
Fulham have officially announced a deal so far this season following the acquisition of Joao Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon in a £20m deal.
But more signings are expected in the coming weeks with raids on Arsenal and Manchester United likely.
Fulham have agreed a £10million fee with United for 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andreas Periera, while the Premier League new boys are confident of landing Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno.
Israeli winger Manor Solomon is set to seal a loan move from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, but Fulham are awaiting FIFA ratification before he can join the club’s training camp.
